Lee Remen stands
near the edge of a 6-acre land parcel of soccer fields, watching a
backhoe lift up first deep bites of black soil.
Remen is regional commissioner for the Glenview chapter of the
American Youth Soccer Organization that has partnered with Glenview Park
District in improving the soccer fields in Flick Park, 3600 Glenview
Road.

The $500,000 upgrade includes an underground drainage system, automated irrigation system and re-graded and newly sodded fields.

AYSO will provide most of the funding, Remen said.
